How do I change my Office 365 password?

** Important Note** You may receive a prompt to change your password while attempting to connect to the WREN. Any attempts to change your password at that prompt will not be saved.  If you are on post you will need to use another network other than WREN ie. cellular hotspot or commercial network or you will need to use another users computer that is currently logged in and authenticated to change your password.

Enterprise policy requires you to change your password periodically to ensure security.

Log in to to change your password.

Passwords are case sensitive, must not contain spaces, and must be at least 15 characters long. Passwords must contain upper-case and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters.

The West Point Microsoft tenant is now utilizing a feature in Office 365 that will add an extra layer of security to user accounts. We will now restrict certain words and phrases from use when a new password is created. Microsoft maintains its own global restricted password list based on findings from compromised accounts, password dumps, and Azure analytical data. West Point will augment this list by restricting the use of phrases like “Go Army Beat Navy” and other colloquialisms. Microsoft nor West Point will reveal the contents of these lists, but if your new password does not meet the requirements you will be shown the following message:

Unfortunately, your password contains a word, phrase, or pattern that makes your password easily guessable. Please try again with a different password.”

In order to continue with password creation, you will need to pick a new password or make the password much more complex by adding extra characters and symbols. For more information on Azure AD Password Protection, please visit
