How to access AMS/CIS from a commercial network

  • Connect to the WREN network via VPN
  • Open Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
  • Connect by putting vpn.westpoint.edu in the space provide Click “Connect

  • Select the appropriate network they should connect to either WREN_Cadets or WREN_SF for Staff and Faculty. Enter their Office365 email address and password and click OK.

  • The AnyConnect pop-up will show the steps of connecting to the network and then the user will see the following notification on the bottom right of their screen when successfully connected.

  • Please Note: Internet Explorer and Chrome are the only browsers that have been fully tested and is supported by the Software Engineering Branch as this time.  DO NOT use Safari as it is not supported.
  • For AMS go to https://apps.westpoint.edu/
  • For CIS go to https://cis.westpoint.edu/

  • Click on the consent and login button and you will then be connected to AMS/CIS.

*MAC users may get an error that says “Website Not Trusted” and must add certificates to a keychain using Keychain Access on Mac before they can access the site.

A certificate file can be shared between computers. You can add certificates to your keychain for quick access to secure websites and other resources.

1. On your Mac, drag the certificate file onto the Keychain Access icon or double-click the certificate file.

2. To view the contents of the certificate before you add it, click Show Certificates in the dialog, then click OK when you’re done.

3. If you’re asked to provide a name and password, type the name and password for an administrator user on this computer.

Go to “Keychain”

1. Go into the Certificates section and locate the certificate you just added

2. Double click on it, enter the trust section.

3. Under “When using this certificate” select “Always Trust”

4. Close your browser, Reopen it, go back to AMS website.
