Microsoft Authenticator

Download the Microsoft Authenticator application via the app store on your mobile device and register it (Google Play for Android; App Store for iOS)

Login to Office 365

  • Print out your username and temporary password from the “O365 Provisioning” email.
  • Log in to portal.office.com
  • Login with your westpoint.edu credentials, not your usma.edu e-mail credentials
  • Follow the prompts to configure Multi-Factor Authentication and reset your password (passwords must be at least 12 characters long and contain 3 of the 4 character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters).

Install Office 365 on your DREN Laptop

  • Make sure all Microsoft programs are closed (including your email) and simply type “Software Center” in the computer’s search box in the bottom left corner of your screen, then click “Office 365 Install Icon”, then click Install.
  • While the install takes place, you can use your computer except for any Microsoft products).

Configure Email

  • Set up a redirect rule in Outlook to move emails from usma.edu to westpoint.edu
  • Contacts > Create new contact and enter your information
  • Click Rules > Create Rule > Advanced Options > Next
  • Select Redirect it to people or public group > Click people or public group > Select the contact you created from the dropdown menu > Next > Next
  • Select turn on this rule > Finish

Migrate Email

  • Go to file in outlook
  • Then select open & export
  • Select import/export
  • Export to a file
  • Outlook data file (.pst)
  • Select the @usma.edu address
  • Click next
  • Select do not export duplicate items and select where you want your @usma.edu data to be stored. Click finish and create a password

Migrate to OneDrive

  • OneDrive is an online cloud storage service from Microsoft. OneDrive integrates with Microsoft Office so users can access Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents in OneDrive. The system allows users to simultaneously edit Office documents, edit documents in browsers, and create and share folders.
